Daily Support Tools
Simple practices you can return to again and again to help your nervous system feel a little safer.
These practices are here to offer your body a moment of safety, steadiness, and exhale. Take what supports you, and leave anything that doesn’t fit today. Go as slowly as you need.
- The 4-2-6 Softening Breath
A simple breath pattern your nervous system understands instantly.
- Inhale gently for 4
- Hold softly for 2
- Exhale slowly for 6
Repeat 3 to 5 times only — no pushing, no forcing.
This helps your body exit “holding” mode and re-enter a steadier rhythm.
- The Weighted Exhale
Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.
Imagine your exhale is just a tiny bit heavier than usual.
Let it drop down and out like a warm sigh.
This signals to your system: “It’s safe to release just a little.”
- Point-of-Contact Reset
Choose one physical point your body is touching — the floor, a chair, a pillow.
Bring your full attention to that single place for 5–10 seconds.
Notice the support beneath you.
This shifts you out of the mental loops and back into the present moment.
- Soft Jaw Release
Unclench your jaw.
Let your tongue rest on the floor of your mouth.
Notice the ripple of relaxation that moves down your neck and shoulders.
Jaw tension is a common trauma hold. Releasing it sends safety signals through the whole body.
- The 10-Second Body Permission Check
Ask yourself gently:
“Where in my body is there even the tiniest bit of softening?”
Don’t search for big sensations, just micro-moments.
Your system learns safest in small doses.
Trauma-informed prompts that help you check in with yourself without forcing big breakthroughs or pressure.
Before you begin:
There is no need to go deep, uncover big truths, or “figure anything out.” These prompts are gentle places to land. Answer as simply or as spaciously as you need.
- Body & Safety Check-In
- “What feels neutral in my body right now?”
- “Is there anywhere I feel even 1 percent softer?”
- “What does my body wish I would pause for today?”
- Emotional Awareness Without Pressure
- “What emotion is closest to the surface right now?”
- “What does this emotion seem to be trying to tell me?”
- “If this emotion had a color or texture, what would it be?”
- Self-Compassion & Permission
- “Where can I offer myself the smallest amount of grace today?”
- “What is one thing I don’t have to hold alone?”
- “What is something I can let be unfinished without guilt?”
- Patterns & Needs Gently Revealed
- “What is repeating in my life that wants my attention?”
- “What need has been whispering, not shouting?”
- “Where am I craving more softness or support?”
- Grounding the Day
- “What tiny moment of peace can I create for myself today?”
- “What would make today feel 5 percent lighter?”
- “What is one thing I can say ‘no’ to in order to protect my energy?”
